The service
ShifuCut is a video editor on iPhone. You can import or record a clip, edit it on the phone, and export it. If you use them, the app also provides an account, Autocut, captions, cloud sync of a project, subscriptions sold by Apple, and support.
ShifuCut does not post your clips.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 to agree to these terms. If you use ShifuCut for someone else, you have authority to agree for them.
The account
Keep the email accurate and the password private. One person uses one account. You can sign in with email and a password, or with Google.
To delete your account, tap Delete account in Settings and type DELETE to confirm. Deletion is permanent and can't be undone.
The account can be suspended if it is used to abuse the service.
Your footage
You keep ownership of your footage. You give ShifuCut permission to process that footage only to do the thing you asked for: transcribe, plan a cut, sync a project, export, or read a support screenshot. That permission ends when the processing for that request is finished, except for copies the Privacy Policy says are kept.
ShifuCut does not use your footage to train its own models. ShifuCut does not get a right to publish your footage.
You promise you have the rights to the content you import, record, upload, or send to support. You will not send illegal content, including child sexual abuse material. You will not send malware or try to break the service. Autocut, captions, cloud sync, or support can be refused when a request breaks these rules.
Autocut and captions
Autocut and captions can mis-hear speech or keep the wrong range. Review the timeline before you export. The result is not professional editing advice.
ShifuCut’s own material
The ShifuCut name, the app, and the interface belong to ShifuCut. These terms do not give you that ownership. Apple’s names and marks belong to Apple.
Subscriptions
Apple sells the subscription and charges your Apple ID. ShifuCut does not take your card.
The price, the length, and any free trial are the ones shown on the purchase screen for your App Store country.
A subscription renews unless you cancel it in the iPhone Settings, under your Apple ID, then Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Restore purchases is in ShifuCut Settings and on the purchase screen. Restoring checks this Apple Account. It does not create a ShifuCut account.
Refunds
ShifuCut does not refund a subscription, a renewal, or a charge made after a free trial. A purchase is final with ShifuCut.
Apple is the seller. A request you send to Apple is decided by Apple under Apple’s own rules. ShifuCut does not decide that request. This section does not remove a refund right that the law says cannot be removed.
Other services
Apple, Supabase, OpenRouter, the model providers named in the Privacy Policy, Backblaze, RevenueCat, and Amplitude apply their own terms to the data they receive.
Availability
Features can fail, and a clip can fail to export. Keep your own copy of anything you need.
Warranty and liability
ShifuCut is provided as available. To the extent the law allows, ShifuCut is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including a lost clip, lost time, or lost profits. Nothing in these terms removes a right the law says cannot be removed. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, these terms do not remove those rights.
Ending these terms
You can stop using ShifuCut and ask for the account to be deleted. ShifuCut can stop providing the service, or suspend an account that breaks these terms. Sections that should survive by their nature, including ownership of footage and the limits on liability, continue to apply.
Changes
These terms can change. The date at the top changes with them. If you keep using ShifuCut after that date, you are asked to accept the new terms where the law requires it. These terms are the ones in the app.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Gurugram, Haryana, have jurisdiction. Consumers in the EU keep the right to bring a claim in their local courts where the law gives them that right.
Apple
The app is licensed, not sold. Apple is not responsible for ShifuCut, its content, or maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide a refund except where Apple’s own rules say so. Apple and its companies are third-party beneficiaries of this licence and can enforce it. You must comply with the App Store terms of service.
